HELPING TWO DIVERSE BRANDS SING
2016 marks the 150th anniversary of the London Fire Brigade. To kick off celebrations, the LFB teamed up with Playmobil to create a video that would raise awareness of the services it provides to young schoolchildren across the region.
How they went about doing this was left entirely to Explosive Alan’s discretion. Knowing that the target audience would have to absorb a lot of information delivered in simple language over a very short duration, we decided that a song would be the ideal solution.
In order to make the most of this unique partnership, we also opted to create a full stop-motion video to accompany the song, using the latest additions to the Playmobil catalogue to show the fire brigade in action in a variety of fantasy scenarios. This also meant that children could be exposed to rescue situations that would ordinarily be quite traumatic, in a fun, educational way.
Every aspect of the music video was produced by our in-house team, including the animation, effects and even the singing. The final piece met with full approval of both clients and, most importantly, our own focus group of friends and family’s children.
After a soft launch on YouTube, which received a lot of positive attention on social media and major sites like Mashable, the video is now touring London schools where it will be seen by thousands of children.
